Sites for Myths takes the viewer on a pilgrimage in The Holy Land, a place that has great significance for the three religions; Judaism, Christianity and Islam and which over the centuries has been characterized by both religious and political conflicts.
The place has been occupied for centuries and at the same time occupies its visitors. Sofie Amalie Klougart explores the mythical places and examines how their overwhelming history of greatness and decline, loss and occupation form an obvious ground for myth formations. She is fascinated by the many contradictions of everyday life and how the place has an impact on the Israelis and Palestinians who live in a conflict area, but also how the place leaves its mark on those who visit as religious tourists.
